Details:
At Polaris’s Summer Weapons Retreat, participants come together to
focus intensely on western martial arts, build lasting community, and
push the limitations of their personal capabilities. The learning
structure is open, yet directed, encouraging and supporting students
in taking ownership of their training path. Students share numerous
exciting opportunities for challenge and success.
Students new to western martial arts learn techniques for dagger,
sword, and shield. Experienced western martial artists may choose to
focus on a variety of techniques, including polarm, spear,
greatsword, sword and dagger, and many others. The retreat features
individual learning goals, extensive sparring, teamwork and tactics,
workshops, and discussions. A few of the topics on this year’s
schedule include, Viking shield and axe techniques, test cutting, and
dealing with multiple opponents.
