GRAND RAPIDS — Shortly after brain surgery affected her balance and ability to walk, Colleen Feuerstein was introduced to Tae Kwon Do.
That introduction has turned around the life of 71-year-old Belding resident Feuerstein, who judged at the Meijer State Games Tae Kwon Do tournament Saturday at Cornerstone University.
“I had problems with Meniere’s disease in my 20s and spent more time in bed or crawling on my hands and knees because the world spins,” said Feuerstein, a co-instructor in Greenville. “Then I had brain surgery that left me unable to walk and deaf in one ear, and I had to relearn to walk again.
